TZ 35 Christmas Day Call.

TZ 36 It's a Beautiful Day To Save Lives.

Hello again! It was super awesome talking with you guys last week over Skype! It felt awkward but it was nice seeing your faces!

Elder Gessler is leaving Dakeng this week. He's going to Tainan Yongkang 1st ward. It was a blast working with him.

So this transfer I'll be training a new companion. I don't know my trainee yet because he's still visa waiting (the same thing happened to me !) So, my companion for now is Elder Nelson.

I'd like to share my testimony that through Joseph Smith, he restored Jesus' Christ church here on earth because we have the Priesthood and the Book of Mormon. Being These two evidences has help me drawn nearer to Heavenly Father. It has strengthened my relationship with him. I'm so grateful for these two things.

I invite everyone to continue studying the Book of Mormon!

TZ 34 That You May Chase Darkness From Among You.

Hello everyone! I'd never thought that I would be wearing a sweater here in Taiwan! .

The work here in 大坑 is doing well! We've found some new friends and even gave some of them a baptismal goal.

We've been focusing on just teaching the Saviors earthly minister and his Atonement and wow! It's super easy and straight to the point. We feel edified and sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

In my personal study, I came across with reading some scriptures about the Priesthood. In Doctrine and Covenants chapter 107 it talks about the spiritual blessings of holding the higher priesthood.

After pondering these scripture verses, it has strengthen my testimony that Heavenly Father still communicates with us. And that Joseph Smith did restore this church because of the blessings of having the priesthood.

I believe that visions are still happening in this world. And if we center our minds to the pure and clean things of this world, we will be able to commune with the general assembly and the church of the Firstborn.

Let us continue to set goals that will purify and cleanse our hearts so eventually we will be able to return to the kingdom of God. Let us chase darkness from among us! Have a good week! I love you!

TZ 33 Efforts and Courage Are Not Enough Without Purpose and Direction.

Good Morning! Wow another week has passed! Time is flying!!  Good thing I'm the pilot .

It's been another great week here in Taiwan. Elder Homer of the Seventy visited us last Thursday. He gave some wonderful insights about being dedicated to the work.

We were able to see some miracles with some of the people we are teaching. Also that there are so many people who are ready to hear the gospel. We just have to have faith and find them.

I want to share my testimony that when we humble ourselves, and pray to Heavenly Father with a sincere heart, He is willing to hear and answer our prayers. Treasure your prayers. For they will be the most sweetest things in our lives.

TZ 32 It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.

Dec. 3, 2018 3:30 pm.

我傳教快一年了!太誇張。

It's December! Wow time flies so fast! I'm almost on my 1 year mark. That's scary. While thinking of it, I wanted to make the most out of my mission. I just want to go hard to do my best for the Lord.

One funny thing is that most people we talk to on the streets has either seen us or talked to us already. That's what happen when you bike on the same road maybe 8 hours a day for two months. 😂

So a person we're teaching shared to us this wonderful scripture that she liked. It's in  2 Nephi 4:17-35. Beautiful scripture.

It's Christmas season and I invite all to read scriptures of Jesus Christ himself serving. And study how he served the people. You too can serve others by following his example. We will all learn something big even if we just do a very simple act of service. Let us light the world by following Jesus Christ's example. I pray that you have a good week! Bless you all!

TZ 31 Hold Fast to What You Already Know and Stand Strong Until Additional Knowledge Comes.

Nov. 26, 2018

Hello again!

It's been a long week! Because it was elections, we did not have a lot of lessons. People did not want to meet with us haha! But now that's over, hopefully we meet with new friends this week.

How was your prayers and scripture study? Hopefully you were enlightened by the Holy Ghost.

I invite everyone to study Alma 36. It's about Alma testifying his conversion. After reading, you might want to ponder also the Atonement of Christ. Study the Atonement! The book of Mormon gives is a powerful book that helps us understand it.

Hopefully you all had a wonderful week. Keep praying and reading with sincerity. I promise through these small things, we will receive peace and happiness. I love you all!

TZ 30 Through Small and Simple Things.

Nov. 19 2018, 10:15 am

This week is the start of my 7th transfer! How crazy is that. I'm almost on my one year mark. It's pretty scary. Sorry also for not sending an email again last week.

Elder Clayton from the 70 and his wife visited Taiwan last week. Both shared wonderful insights about small and simple things. Mostly about mission rules. Their son was able to come with them too. Their son served here in Taizhong 20 years ago. Pretty cool to hear his testimony.

I know that by small and simple things, we gain greater blessings. So maybe try to do or even find promised blessings that we're missing out on the scriptures. And try to do them. I'm pretty sure it will really bless our lives.

Last week was pretty awesome. We found new people to teach! That's always cool. And we're staying in 大坑. I love this place.

TZ 29 Only An Elder ?

I  invite everyone to read this address by Elder Bruce R. McConkie.

For the past few weeks I've been studying about the power and Authority that I hold. Spencer W. Kimball said "The setting apart may be taken literally; it is setting apart from sin, apart from the carnal; apart from everything which is crude, low, vicious, cheap, or vulgar; set apart from the world to a higher plane of thought and activity. The blessing is conditional upon faithful performance"

Like what President Spencer W. Kimball said. I literally felt that. The moment I was set apart.

There is power in our calling. We have the responsibility to live worthy for it. We also have to exercise the spiritual power that each one of us have.

I invite everyone to study the power and authority of your callings! I promise that as you act upon it, it will bless you personally and will help build the kingdom of God here on earth.

Taizhong has weird weather. There are days where it is so cold and then the next day, it's super hot. Hotter than 高雄!

How's everyone? Hope that you are all well. Be alert at all times!

TZ 25 Transfer Day !

TZ 24 Don't Look Back !

Hello again everyone!

Last week we focused on trying to use technology as an advantage. The mission started using smartphones last December and ever since a big portion of missionaries still uses the smartphones like Nokia's (Texting, confirming appointments) but in a more convenient way.

So on Zone Conference we discussed how we should not have a bad mindset of pulling out our phones and talking to people online.

Seriously, share some ideas if you have! Haha it would be awesome! The Mission field is like a laboratory. I can test so many things and try to improve things. It's super scary but it can be rewarding.

It's spring cleaning here haha! So once a year, the whole mission will do a power cleaning. And we are doing our best to clean the apartment right now...

I just want to share that there is peace in Christ. Although life can sometimes be super hard, we have to hold on to the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is always hope. Live for the future. Don't look back. Be grateful in small things. I'm so happy that I am serving in the Lord's vineyard. Enjoy the week! Keep moving forward!

TZ 23 Recognize and Understand the Spirit .

Hello again everyone!

It takes a lot of time for me to think what I should write. Hopefully everyone can understand what I'm saying...

Last week has been one of the best weeks I had so far in Taiwan. I definitely can see that Heavenly Father really is in charge of this work. I have figured for myself what a successful missionary is. A successful missionary is when He or She feels the spirit. That is all we need in doing Heavenly Father's work. I have tried to let the Holy Ghost help me discern peoples needs, what they need to hear, what invitation they need. And it is such great joy to feel the spirit. It naturally makes us happy. And when we are happy, our faith increases. I'm so happy being on the Lord's errand!

The food in Taiwan is super great! All noodles and rice. Literally there is a road where everything just sells noodles and rice and it is funny how it can take 15 minutes to decide on what to eat. Haha!

So far we are teaching 盧姐妹 and her situation is that her Mom wouldn't let her be baptized or even come to church. She met missionaries two years ago then her mom found out that she was meeting with missionaries. Then earlier this year another set of elders found her and are able to get in contact. So right now her mother doesn't know that she's meeting with us haha but, Elder Huang and I has so many ideas but with you, there's even more! So share some of your ideas on how we help help 盧姐妹s family receive the restored gospel!

The Savior broke the bands of death and He has paid the price of our sins and transgressions. Such a wonderful truth that we can be clean again and return to Heavenly Fathers presence! Have a great week everyone!

TZ 22 The Plan of Happiness.

Hello again! This week was filled with joy as me and my companion continue to go and do about the work of the Lord!

Last week started with pouring rain and stopped at around Thursday! It was super crazy! Trees falling, roads with holes, and some areas were flooded. But we are fine!

Yesterday was fast and testimony meeting. The members here in 前鎮 shared their testimonies how having the gospel in a family truly does bring blessings.

As I sat and listen to them, I was thinking in what ways the gospel can bless a family. It seemed to me very broad to me. So I kept thinking and thinking.

I think the Gospel can really bless a family is when a family understands the Plan of Salvation. When a family understands it, I am pretty sure that they will have the desire to go back to Heavenly Father. And more importantly with their families too!

Woahoh... That sounds super easy... But in my last email, I said something about being perfect. We will never be perfect in this world. We will make mistakes in life. And that is why we have the Atonement.

Stay on the Covenant path! Use the Atonement if you need to! The Atonement is one of the most precious gifts Heavenly Father has given to us. So let us use it!

The Gospel really does bless a family! Physically and spiritually!

I am grateful to have The Book of Mormon restored on the earth today. It reveals to us the plan of Happiness. It contains so many truths that nobody has seen yet!

TZ 21 Perfectionism is Toxic.

Reflecting on how my mission is going... I see that I am not contented with how well I am doing.

It is basically because I have this mindset of becoming a "Perfect Person"

And I still have this mindset but not as severe as before.

I have seen that having a mindset of becoming perfect is toxic. We in this life will never be perfect.

It is part of Heavenly Father's plan that we make mistakes in life.

Mistakes such as not being able to pass a test, a job interview, etc.

We do not find happiness when we want to be perfect in this life. Happiness is when we try our best to be a better version of ourselves.

This is why Heavenly Father sent Jesus Christ to perform the Atonement.

He knows that we will make mistakes in life.

I too am a perfectionist. I testify that it does not give happiness! I guess this invite is for the perfectionist. But I invite everyone to find out for theirs, in one sentence.

What does it mean to you what a successful person is.

Make it short as possible. Be careful of the lurking thought of becoming perfect.

Be Ye Therefore Perfect—Eventually
