TZ 64 The X and Y Axis !

Good day again!

Being in Taizhong is great! We get special devotionals from General Authorities. Last Saturday we had Brother and Sister Jones(Primary General President) and Elder and Sister Meurs.

They gave a wonderful lesson to us that I would like to share. You might have to refer to the picture below!

So we have a graph here that has the X and Y axis. The X axis represents spiritual efforts. And the Y axis represents the blessings.

I invite you all to also discuss as a family or think personally what are some spiritual efforts we can do.

So we discussed and listed some things like Praying (sincere prayer), Testifying, Repenting, Studying the scriptures and other things you can think of that needs effort.

Now we can look at the Y axis or the blessings. As you can see in the graph the more we give out our effort, the bigger the blessing is.

This week was pretty crazy. Our friend who had a baptism date on the Saturday. And two days before the baptism he decided to cancel it because his parents did not sign the papers.

So we were going nuts. We invited members to pray for him and I've never asked this kind of thing to Heavenly Father. But the day before his baptism his parents signed it. Our prayers were answered! He was so happy!

Then on Sunday we went to the office to do some paper works from the baptism then as we were walking back to the chapel we saw this dude hang himself! So crazy! So we ran and helped the other missionaries trying to stop him. I've heard that it was his first time to come to church and he asked money but wasn't very happy that the church wouldn't give him money and so he decided to hang himself. 😦 He's okay though. Sorry to end the email on a sad note haha

Anyways I want to share to you all a poem that I really like.

What win I, if I gain the thing I seek?
A dream, a breath, a froth of fleeting joy.
Who buys a minute’s mirth to wail a week?
Or sells eternity to get a toy?
For one sweet grape who will the vine destroy?

Love you all! Enjoy the week ❤

TZ 63 Appointments !

Hello again everyone!

It's been raining here in Taizhong! But we're blessed that in the time of our appointments with our friends, the rain stops before then. So we were able to teach them.

We have four friends preparing for baptism. And even though they do not have a ton of gospel knowledge, they still have the desire to be baptized. One of the best part of this process is seeing them grow close to Heavenly Father. You could just tell it from their prayers.

As they share their simple testimony of Heavenly Father, it also strengthens my testimony that He really answer prayers. And is willing to help us overcome our challenges.

Prayer is so important. Keep praying sincerely and endure to the end. Prayers may not be answered right away but I know it will come. Have faith and hope! I love you all ❤

TZ 62. 北區 North Area !

Hello again!

Time is so fast. It's Monday again 😂

It's been a great week here in 北區. We've had a lot of teaching lately and it's so cool to see people grow as they accept invitations to either pray, read or coming to church. You can feel them grow closer to Heavenly Father.

Another thing that has been happening is rain. It's pretty annoying because when we bike our legs gets soaked. It's not the best feeling.

I think that's about our week. We had a lot of lessons. Hope you have another great week everyone! ❤

TZ 61 Bus Experience !

Hello Everyone!

I'm back to Taizhong! First few days were pretty weird. I wasn't used to being at office. It was pretty boring ha ha but now we're finally out and doing the work. So much better ha ha

Our area is pretty small but miraculously we've found quite a ton of people living in our area. They're all wonderful people.

The ward doesn't really have a lot of members but the members are very awesome! A lot of them shared their testimonies and it was very spiritual. I love them!

So last Monday, I decided to go up to Taizhong with a member by bus. So we met up at the bus station then headed our way. He shared a ton of his experiences since he joined the church. Then shared to me that he asked a few members and a few returned missionaries a question. This is the question 「When do you think you feel close to Heavenly Father?」The responses were pretty similar he said. 「When we read the scriptures」He then shared his opinion. He thinks that we need to feel close to Him every-time. And I think this is a must too.

So I took this question to personal study. I thought of ways that I can be close to Heavenly Father every-time. Prayer was the biggest thought that I had. So I tried praying every single second, minute and hour. And I testify that through sincere prayer every second we can draw close to him. The past few days I've felt very close to him. Temptation were easy to conquer. I felt that He really loves us!

I invite everyone to try this out! It's the best thing ever! I love you all! ❤

TZ 60 Back To Taichung ! 五權三支會

Hello again everyone!

So I'm now serving in the 五權三支會. It's at 台中 so yeah, I'm back to 台中。

My new companion is Elder Paxman. He's from Provo.

So the missionaries in this area were previously Office Elders but there were two couple missionaries that came in. So they won't be needing us there anymore.

Our area is pretty small and I'm pretty scared. Hopefully everything will be better in the few days to come.

Last week with Elder Nelson was pretty fun. We had quite a lot of lessons and it was every fun. And we also cleaned our apartment the whole week. It was super annoying because we had to wait for the trash truck to come by. Other than that, that was about it for our week. Hopefully it will be fun this week. I love you all!
